Introduction
In this privacy statement you can read how Summio uses your data. This Statement relates to the data processing by means of, amongst others, the client base of Dormio Group processed through our websites and the use of cookies. Summio is part of the Dormio Group. This privacy statement applies to all companies belonging to the Dormio Group. These companies are established at Ir. J.P. van Muijlwijkstraat 7, Arnhem. Dormio Group respects the privacy of all clients / relations and users of our websites and will ensure that all information provided by you will be treated confidentially. Dormio Group offers a variety of products and services, and for the proper execution thereof, it may be necessary to collect and store your personal data. This privacy statement was last updated on 3 November 2022 and replaces all previous versions of this privacy statement.
What are the underlying principles?
Dormio Group will process your personal data according to applicable laws and regulations. On the basis of the General Data Protection Regulation, Dormio Group must be able to base the processing of your data on one of the legal bases mentioned in this legalization.
We will process your data in particular for the execution of an agreement concluded with you (this will be the case, for example, when you buy a recreational home with us, or when you book a recreational home at one of our resorts for a stay) or on the basis of you given permission (this will be the case if you register for newsletters, for example).
Additionally, Dormio Group will process your personal data on the basis of a legal obligation (for example keeping a register on the resorts of the guests present) as well as on the basis of looking for legitimate interests, such as applying direct marketing.
Which data do we collect about you and with whom do we share this data?
When you use the services of the Dormio Group, we need to record some personal data about you. The main reason why we process your personal data is to make sure you can have a carefree holiday.
Below we will indicate for each product/service which data about you we collect and process.
You sell or rent your recreational home
When you sell or rent your recreational home through Dormio Group, Dormio Group will record the following information in its administration:
- Name, address and contact information;
- Description of the home, as well as all relevant characteristics;
- Any photos and videos of the home;
- Other information provided by you to Dormio Group.
Your data will be used to execute the mediation assignment you have provided to Dormio Group. Your data may also be used for;
- Making your recreational home public at amongst others, on our websites or in the sales / rental brochures of Dormio Group and those of relations / partners of Dormio Group;
- To send information about products and services provided by Dormio Gorup, if you wish to decline the mailings, you may contact Dormio at any time.
You are buying a holiday home or are looking for one
If you are looking for a holiday home and/or are buying a holiday home, Dormio Group will record the following details about you in its records.
Looking for a holiday home
- Name, address and contact details;
- Search profile detailing your housing requirements;
- Any other information you provide to Dormio Group.
You are buying a holiday home
- Name, address and contact details;
- Details of the property you have purchased;
- Any other information you provide to Dormio Group.
Your data will be used to maintain contact with you, as well as to draw up the contracts should you purchase a holiday home and subsequently to fulfil these contracts. Your data may also be used for:
- Any advice, should you request it;
- To carry out analyses and produce reports, so that Dormio Group can improve its services;
- Sending you information about Dormio Group’s products and services; if you wish to opt out of this, please contact Dormio Group.
You are renting a holiday home
When you book a holiday home with Dormio Group, Dormio Group will record the following details about you in its records:
- Name, address and contact details;
- Any other information you provide to Dormio Group.
Your data will be passed on to the resort where you are staying, as well as to third parties involved in your booking or stay (such as, for example, the local authority, the insurance company in the event that you have taken out travel or cancellation insurance, or a cleaning company). Your data may also be used for:
- Dormio Group’s customer database, in which we store your details from previous bookings and points of contact, so that we can serve you more quickly and effectively;
- Sending you a guest survey after your stay, so that Dormio Group can use this to improve its services. Your responses may therefore also be shared with service providers engaged by Dormio Group;
- Sending you information about Dormio Group’s products and services; if you wish to opt out of this, please contact Dormio Group.
Summio website and social media
When you visit our website, Instagram, Facebook and other social media platforms – provided you have given your consent – the items you have liked and the pages you have viewed are recorded. Dormio Group works in partnership with third parties for this purpose. Both Dormio Group and these third parties use, amongst other things, so-called cookies.
A cookie is a simple, small file that is sent along with the website’s pages and stored by your browser on your computer’s hard drive. The information stored therein can be sent back to our servers during a subsequent visit. Based on this, we can identify your potential interests and provide you with relevant information and offers.
In addition to functional cookies, we also set standard analytical cookies. Analytical cookies enable us to measure website traffic. These statistics give us an insight into how often our website is used, what information visitors are looking for and which pages are most frequently visited.
We continuously analyse and improve the website to make the visitor experience as pleasant as possible. The statistics we collect are completely anonymous and cannot be traced back to individuals or personal data. This data is therefore always used anonymously.
We use Google Analytics to gain insights from the data. We always set analytical cookies when you visit our website. Dormio Group works with, amongst others, Amplixs, Mailchimp, Afas, Sumo, Zapier, Bookzo, NextPax, Umbraco and Snakeware Cloud. Further information on the use of cookies by these parties can be found on their respective websites.
Marketing cookies are used to track visitors as they browse different websites. Their purpose is to display adverts that are tailored to and relevant for the individual user. This makes these adverts more valuable to publishers and third-party advertisers.
How long do we keep your data?
Dormio Group will ensure that your data is adequately secured and that your data is not kept any longer than needed for the above mentioned purposes, unless it is legally required by law that your personal data be stored for a longer period of time.
Is your data transferred to countries outside the EU?
In principle, the data is stored within the European Economic Area (EEA). It may occur, however, that specific data is processed outside the EEA, for example in the United States. Such data will only be processed if sufficient measures have been taken to protect the personal data, in accordance with the legislation on data protection.
What are your rights?
You have:
Right of access: the right to obtain a copy of your personal data.
Right to withdraw permission: the right to withdraw the permission granted, if we process your personal data on the basis of your permission.
Right to rectification: the right to have your data rectified.
Right to data portability: the right to have personal data transferred to another party.
Right to restriction: the right to restrict the way in which data is processed.
Right not to be subject to a decision based solely on automated processing: a decision can be made on the basis of the automated processing of data (without human intervention). This may have consequences. In that case, you will be entitled to a new decision.
Right to object: the right to object to the processing of your data.
Right to transparent information: the right to transparent information about what we do with your personal data.
Right to erasure (“right to be forgotten”): the right to erasure of your personal data if there is no longer a good reason for processing this data.
You also have the right to submit a complaint about the processing of your data to the Dutch Data Protection Authority.
